Rhyme Technique

What year did Columbus sail for America?

I bet that you said this little rhyme in your head to come up with the answer, “In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue”!

We use the rhyming technique all the time, sometimes without even realizing it. For example, when you are unsure of how to spell the word “receive”, you might say to yourself “use I before E, except after C”, a rhyme you probably learned in school.

To use the Rhyme Technique all you have to do is make up a rhyme to remember what you want to remember! It’s fun! If you are musically-inclined, you can even make up whole songs to help you remember long pieces of important information.

How many remembering rhymes can you come up with?
